About me

Currently working at Graphcore in Bristol. We're making chips for AI. It's a cool place to be.

I'm still maintaining and improving the Python bitstring package.

My new project is a bitwise format parsing and building library called bitformat. I'm aiming for a first alpha release later in 2024.

I've not got much else on GitHub except my quixotic idea of a clock based on a Go board.

Add transparent layered canvas?

Might be a good performance gain and let it work for retina. See http://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/canvas/performance/

Add cookie to remember the last view

... so that the user doesn't have to always reselect.

Different white stones

Nice to have different white stone graphics. 50% chance of getting the pure white, otherwise choose from the graphics with grain showing.

Sliding / jumping stones

We can either slide or jump the stones when moving. Suggest that if no other stones are on the path and the path isn't too long that we slide them, otherwise jump.

Add some randomness to stone placement

Nice to have a little non-uniformity to the stone placement. Suggest that each board position has an offset for the stone and this is updated each time a stone is placed there. The offset should be a board property rather than a stone property as there needs to be checks that the offsets don't make the stones overlap.
