This role installs Kibana.

Note Supports Kibana 4

Installation and Dependencies

To install run ansible-galaxy install sansible.kibana or add this to your roles.yml

- name: sansible.kibana
  version: v2.0

and run ansible-galaxy install -p ./roles -r roles.yml

Tags

This role uses two tags: build and configure

build - Installs Kibana and all its dependencies.
configure - Configure and ensures that the Kibana service is running.

Examples

To install the defaul version (4.1.2):

- name: Kibana
  hosts: "{{ hosts }}"

  roles:
    - role: kibana

To install RC 5

- name: Kibana
  hosts: "{{ hosts }}"

  roles:
    - role: kibana
      sansible_kibana_tarball: "kibana-5.0.0-rc1-linux-x86_64"
      sansible_kibana_download_base_url: https://artifacts.elastic.co/downloads/kibana/
      sansible_kibana_version: 5.0.0-rc1

To install a specific version:

Update to Latest Standards

Add support for Ubuntu Xenial (systemd)

As a Infra Developer
I want to be able to install Kibana on Ubuntu Xenial
So that I can use Ubutnu Xenial as my base image.

Add support for v5

Ansible 2.2 compatibility

This role needs to be updated in order to work correctly with Ansible 2.2
Ansible 2.2 does not support bare variables

version_compare deprecated in ansible 2.9

version_compare was deprecated in ansible 2.5 and removed in 2.9. it has been replaced with version and tests do not use | filter anymore and instead now use is filter:

Change GPG and download locations to artifacts.elastic.co

The old domain seems to be broken and throws an SSL error.
