The animation currently updates only the marker positions, but not the trajectories. Would be nice if these are also drawn with time (unless that is too heavy to compute)

Default to loading only the last 30-365 days of data, implement a query parameter to limit or extend this period.

Selecting a drifter on the map does not change the query in the address bar. This means that users can't select a drifter and then share the link with that drifter selected with others

We will need to think about how to best script the data stream of the drifter positions from the Iridium subscription to this website. @SLYpma is in contact with the drifter manufacturer, once we know more how we will receive the data from them we can start working on the workflow

There are some hardcoded links to the github.io page, that need to be changed to the oceanparcels.org page

In the animation of the Atlantic drifters, where they don't all start at the same time, the drifter colour sometimes jumps. Can that be fixed so that a drifter always has the same colour?

Try to guarantee that the marker is not smaller than 50x50px

In Chrome: Clicking on a drifter on https://oceanparcels.org/atlanticmap.html and then on the twitter button generates a link to https://oceanparcels.org/?s=drifter_16 and not https://oceanparcels.org/atlanticmap.html?s=drifter_16 (as it should). Same is true for the GalapagosMap

In Safari: The link created in Twitter is https://oceanparcels.org?oceanparcels.org=, which is also not correct? Note that the copy button generates a link to https://oceanparcels.org?oceanparcels.org=&s=drifterID_17&a=0, which is also an invalid link

Eventually, it would be nice if the page also works in an iframe and ideally even within the https://galapagosplasticfree.nl/ wordpress site (including queries)

right now they don't stand out, and are very hard to tap on mobile

@SLYpma is working on a (vectorised) custom drifter icon. Once that's ready, it has to be implemented as a custom marker

Since a recent commit, only a small fraction (the bottom right part?) of the start button can be clicked on to launch the animation. The rest of the button does not work anymore; I think because the date-div is overlaid

For relatively (not even super)small screens, the datestring and the top-left buttons overlap, see screenshot. Can that be fixed?

Now that the technical implementation of the website is (almost) done, it's also time to start tweaking the look and feel of the website, and then particularly:

• The look of the buttons
• The look of the tip-tools
• The font used for the texts
• The placing and design of the date string
• ...

Drifters can now only be selected by altering the query in the address bar. It's important that this can also be done through clicking on the drifter (and/or its track)
