greenR is an R package that enables the quantification, analysis, and visualization of urban greenness within city networks. It leverages data from OpenStreetMap (www.openstreetmap.org) and is implemented as both an R package and a Shiny web application for user-friendly interaction.
Hey great tool! :) One question: looking at the OSM download in get_osm_data.R, it seems like features are downloaded with the tag landuse=park. This tag doesn't exist though, I assume it should be leisure=park? I'm not an R expert, so maybe I've also misinterpreted the code here, but otherwise it would be worth having a look at it to get the intended features from OSM.
This is a fabulous tool! I'm curious about data completeness- have you thought about informing the user of how complete the underlying data is? OSM is not very complete when it comes to greenness last time I checked.
Really excellent initiative, thanks for the efforts here! I had a small problem using RStudio Cloud, since the server is at the moment banned from the Nominatim public endpoint. The error message was quite confusing at first, we should probably pick up a failed request. It would be great if we could add the ability to configure an alternative server and credentials.
