firefighter's Issues

[Task] Solid algorithm construction

We have few options:

  1. RWF2LWF
Right-Wall Follow with a switch to Left-Wall Follow after certain number of turns.

  2. Yilin's algorithm

  3. Theresa's algorithm

We should construct all of them and compare the performances.

[Task] Kill Switch

"Robots must be equipped with a “kill power” plug that immediately removes power from the robot’s sensor, control, and drive systems. A possible design would have four pins. Two of the pins would power the robot’s logic, sensing, and control circuitry, and the other two would power the drive system. When the plug is removed, all robot systems are turned off.

image

For example, a suitable Kill Power Plug may be constructed from any standard 4-pin square post header and connector with pins 1-2 short-circuited and 3-4 short-circuited. The Kill Power Plug must be mounted with a bright yellow background. Cur-rent for the robot’s control and sensor circuits may be routed through the Pins 1-2 circuit, and current for the robot’s drive system can be routed through thePins 3-4 circuit. An example is shown in Figure on the current page.

NOTES:

  1. The power to the drive motors MUST be re-moved before the robot is screened at theRIT (Robot Inspection Table) (Section 3.8 onpage 13).
  2. We recommend that the Kill Power Plug be partof the handle assembly (Section 5.2.8).
