hid-atari-retrobit's Issues

Cannot install hid-atari-retrobit module

I have a RetroBit USB joystick cable and a QuickShot II Turbo joystick. I am running Fedora 17 and have the usual problem: only right and down work, not up and left. So therefore I tried this hid-atari-retrobit module.
The module compiles OK but I can't install it. I followed the readme file, but here is what happens when I try to install it:

rmmod ./hid-atari-retrobit.ko; rmmod usbhid; insmod ./hid-atari-retrobit.ko ; modprobe usbhid
Error: Module hid_atari_retrobit is not currently loaded
libkmod: kmod_module_get_holders: could not open '/sys/module/usbhid/holders': No such file or directory
Error: Module usbhid is in use

The readme file says that "jstest /dev/input/js0" can be used to test the joystick, but although I have the jstest command, I don't see any device /dev/input/js0. The joystick works the same way as before, only right and down work, not up and left.

Errors on Raspberri Pi

Hello. I'm trying to use your fix on a Raspberry Pi running Raspbian “wheezy” but I keep getting a lot of errors related to file or folder does not exist. Can you help out a newbie to linux?

Check for device id in probe function

I'm not very familiar with linux module developing. But is it possible to check for the device id inside the probe function to ensure to only bind atari devices instead of using your shell script? This would make things very easy!

Second controller not detected

Hi,
I recompiled the kernel and the first controller is being detected fine. However the second controller is not. The Emulation Station is showing only one controller detected.

Has anybody tried this fix with two controllers?
