Hello Rob,

I have an old 88W8786-based module, which, mainly for educational reasons, I'd like to get working as a mini-access point.
As I have kernel 4.18 installed (and about to install 4.20), I can't really find any version which runs correctly. I also tried to compile some code I found, but had loads of errors.

When I detected your site, I had some hope. But when I read the README, there's talk about copy the firmware usb8786_uapsta.bin... I could not (neither could google) find any copy of that file on the 'net! So, I'm confused. Does compiling the 'latest' package create those .bin files? (I thought these were proprietary bins)

I also tried the several kernel modules which seem related (mwifiex, -usb) no luck there either. The module is detected by the usb system though.

I''d appreciate suggestions...
