Good catch @bluefangs. I should have included that link here myself.

I have played with the X-Pack Graph features a bit using netflow-based datasets, but haven't really found any compelling use-cases. To provide something for Graph also means I have to figure out how I want to release functionality based on Elastic's commercial offerings (Graph, Machine Learning, Alerting), without hindering people from using ElastiFlow as a purely open-source solution.

At the moment I recommend using dlumbrer/kbn_network as it is better suited to rendering direct relationships in the data (such as connections in netflow data) and it can be added directly to dashboards, which Graph cannot.

I agree with this, I also think kbn_network is better suited for elastiflow and second the idea of keeping it totally open source.
