RNO-G Control Microcontroller Firmware

Firmware for the controller board for RNO-G. This runs on a SAMD21J18A microcontroller. Obviously you'll need the arm cross-compiler installed. 

This project is based on atmel START (ASF4) but without the normal file structure :) 

Directory structure: 

  application/ most of the application code
  asf4/  autogenerated ASF4 files (other than main.c of course) 
  bootloader/ bootloader
  build/ (generated by Makefile) build happens in this directory
  config/  header files configuring the build 
  docs/ Documentation 
  lorawan/  the LoraMac endpoint reference implementation, ported to this microcontroller. 
  linker/  linker scripts 
  shared/  code shared between application and bootloader  (outside of asf4 and config) 
  client/ userspace loading programs for loading a program to the bootloader via usb or uart. These are built separately.

Improve SBC <--> controller interface

Currently, we communicate between the SBC and controller micro using a "console" (really just direct access to the UART line). rno-g-lted also sometimes sends LTE control messages (spamming the console).

We want to multiplex this interface, allowing for on-SBC collection of environmental data as well as a more robust interface for commanding (so eventually we could have an automatic station start script).

This will probably require some daemon to "own" the UART connection, but we want to retain the console for compatibility and such, so will need some IPC (maybe dbus, maybe something else). We probably don't need to support programming the microcontroller via this interface, though we could.

There was an early attempt at this by @cozzyd, although it's not clear if it's the right level of control.
