This would be a nice feature. Probably even without a download continue automatic retries (like 3 or 5 times) would improve the user experience.
Even if we later switch to a different place to download content from, I think that basically any server software or hosting provider does support Range headers now.

If a server supports the Range header and decides to allow it, it will send the response with the HTTP status code 206 (Partial Content). This can be useful, as a server that does not support or allow Range headers can simply fall back to re-sending the whole file with status code 200 (OK); and we can use the code to determine how we should handle the response.
