remote-tilt's Issues

Want: Firefox extension

Ideally re-using an unmodified device-motion-polyfill.js - or, can we roll any changes back in to the original script?

http://remote-tilt.com/tilt.html issue

There seems to be something wrong with the http://remote-tilt.com/tilt.html demo.

  1. Go to http://remote-tilt.com/tilt.html
  2. For "To use a real mobile device for motion events or you can't enable popups, select 'OK' to continue. Or, select 'cancel' and enable popups to use the mini remote." choose OK.
  3. Hit OK for "Visiting http://remote-tilt.com/MY_REMOTE_KEY will remotely send motion events to this page"

However, visiting http://remote-tilt.com/MY_REMOTE_KEY with any browser with orientation event support (incl. Safari on iPhone) does not seem to result in the expected effect of the logo being controlled by the orientation of the device. Strangely enough, what did happen was that the orientation events of my MacBook Pro were captured and they were steering the orientation of the logo...

So, in short, pressing "Cancel" or "OK" in step 2 gives the same results.

Want: IE extension (is this possible?)

I'm not even sure of IE support right now - I did some early testing but it failed, and I just wanted a developer tool that I could use to debug with. So it may not be possible.

Example with motion events : Topheman Bombs

Hie Remy,

First, I want to thank you for this polyfill which has made my developments much easier with the accelerometer devices.

I've just refactored a game that is played by default in the browser, tilting your device to manage a ball, tapping the screen to drop bombs (you'll see).

In this v2, I integrated remote-tilt, not only for the development part, but also for the gaming part, so if you're on your desktop or laptop, it will launch the accelerometer emulator and you'll be able to play ...

I think it could be a part of your examples that are using remote-tilt ...

You can test it at : http://bombs.topheman.com/
The sources are on github.

PS : On my version of remote-tilt, I made some little changes (which have nothing to do in your master branch), such as :

  • the remote tilt window in global to be able to post message between the emulator and the parent window
  • commented the code that tries to connect to the remote tilt server (on firefox, alerts can be confusing for users)

I already have another project on the way that I will release soon, also based on devicemotion + emulator.
