Firstly, allow me to award you a belated golden joystick for this theme. (I'd buy you a beverage, at least, if I could.)

Secondly, I just have a suggestion with respect to the way the theme handles apostrophes and quotes, for I noticed this sort of thing happening:

It seems that the solution lies in turning off smart quotes, like so:

kramdown: smart_quotes: ["apos", "apos", "quot", "quot"]

Which results in:

For some reason, this issue doesn't arise with apostrophes and quotes used in front matter (e.g., the "Let's get blogging" from your c64jekyll demo).

Once again, thanks a lot for this theme. Delightful!
