Error when upload file that has space or special character filename

I tried this:

$ volaupload -r BEEPi -u "[Author Name] Title of the manga.zip"
Starting DoS... done
Greenfagging in as GreenFag... done
Pushing attack bytes to mainframe... 640.12MB in total

Failed to upload [Author Name] Title of the manga.zip: 'ascii' codec can't encode character '\u2026' in position 108: ordinal not in range(128) (attempt: 0)

Failed to upload [Author Name] Title of the manga.zip: 'ascii' codec can't encode character '\u2026' in position 108: ordinal not in range(128) (attempt: 1)

then I renamed it to thisisamanga.zip

$ volaupload -r BEEPi -u "thisisamanga.zip"
Starting DoS... done
Greenfagging in as GreenFag... done
Pushing attack bytes to mainframe... 640.12MB in total
1/1 - [##############################] 100.0% [amanga.zip]                     640.1/640.1 dl3 - 12.23MB/s (20.87MB/s),       9s/0s
All done in 51.08secs (10.89MB/s)

It works. Weird.

Works only 30% of the time.

Not sure, if this repository is even still looked at, but i was searching for a volafile uploader from the command line.
Sadly the tool only works 20-30% of the time, with even varying results when executing the same command. When uploading a file i usually get the answer:
Starting DoS... Failure to fly: Can't convert 'int' object to str implicitly (<class 'TypeError'>) All done in 0.00secs (0.00MB/s)
At the same time though it actually sometimes works, even if no parameters change which is the weird thing about it. This is running on debian 9 stretch. If you cant help me out, I would greatly appreciate it if you could point me towards another solution to uploading files over the terminal. Thanks!
