rxgroovy's Issues

RxGroovy for RxJava 1.1.X

Are there plans to release RxGroovy for 1.1.0/1.1.1 ?
It's is currently stuck at 1.0.15 from October 15.

RxGroovy Bootstrap

RxGroovy has been extracted from RxJava prior to 1.0 as per ReactiveX/RxJava#589

I have done this with a simply copy/paste/commit for now. Commit history remains in the 0.20.x branch of RxJava: https://github.com/ReactiveX/RxJava/tree/0.20.x

If anyone wishes to replace the code in this project with files that retain commit history, go ahead and make the changes.

Over the coming weeks the build and release process will be updated.

This project does not need to release immediately as 1.0. It can continue with 0.x releases until it makes sense to hit 1.0. Its lifecycle is now decoupled from RxJava.

Make groovy dependency explicit or "provided"

The current dependency
compile 'org.codehaus.groovy:groovy-all:2.+'
causes us troubles in our gradle builds as it brings in arbitrary versions of groovy (currently 2.4.0-beta3).
Since gradle doesn't support maven dependency exclusions, it's hard for us to build a library with rxgroovy and get the dependencies to work out - we would have to specify a forced groovy version in each leaf project to get it to work.

Suggestions:
Specify an explicit groovy version that you have compiled and tested against.
You could also make the dependency "provided" to have it not appear in the published pom file as per various solutions described in https://issues.gradle.org/browse/GRADLE-784

Usage with Grails Framework

If I follow the usage examples on a Grails v2.3.11 application I always get a MissingMethodException like the one below:

groovy.lang.MissingMethodException: No signature of method: rx.Observable.subscribe() is applicable for argument types: (my.package.TestController$_show_closure1)

Seems like the Subscribe() method does not allow closures, but as per the examples it should allow them.

I configured my dependencies like:

dependencies {
    compile 'io.reactivex:rxjava:1.0.14'
    compile 'io.reactivex:rxjava-groovy:1.0.2'
}

Any idea why is this happening? You can use the Hello World example to try reproducing this (it's the one I'm using).
