e21-modules-extra's Introduction

Hi. Iโ€™m Robert, known online as ylee. I'm a very active software engineer in the Bodhi Linux Community.

  • ๐Ÿ”ญ Iโ€™m working on improving Moksha, fixing broken e17 modules, the Bodhi Linux 7.0 release, some programming tutorials, and more.
  • ๐ŸŒฑ Iโ€™m always trying to learn more about EFL, and whatever other programming topic interests me or seems necessary for Bodhi development.
  • ๐Ÿ‘ฏ Iโ€™m looking to collaborate on documentation for Terminology, Moksha, and EFL programming.
  • ๐Ÿค” Iโ€™m looking for help with everything Bodhi Linux related, especially developers, graphic artists, and translators.
  • ๐Ÿ’ฌ Ask me about anything Bodhi related, my mathematical interests, or programming in general.
  • ๐Ÿ›  My favorite language is Python although I do alot of programming in C. I know variable amounts of various other languages naturally.
  • ๐Ÿ“ซ How to reach me: My email is public, and I am in the Bodhi channel of Discord when online. May or may not be on IRC.
  • ๐Ÿ˜„ Pronouns: He/him
  • โšก Fun facts: I am a brick mason, vegetarian, and started programming on punched cards and paper tape.

e21-modules-extra's Issues

Screenshot elm_obj_pan_pos_max_get() error

When you load screenshot settings the first time:

ERR<25080>:eo lib/elementary/elm_pan.eo.c:22 elm_obj_pan_pos_max_get() Unable to resolve op for api func 0xb7566f60 for obj=(nil) ((null))

Clipboard popup prevents shelf from auto-hiding

Minor issue that likely does not effect anyone who does not have the shelf set to auto-hide. It seems when you click on the clipboard icon, to get the popup of recent clipboard entries and/or go to settings or clear. That seems to stop the shelf from auto-hiding. It remains that way till I log out and in again, OR I go to the shelf's settings, uncheck auto-hide, hit apply, then re-check, and apply again. That gets it to hide again. Till next time I click on the icon.

Not sure offhand what is causing this. I assume issues with the module vs shelf. The others do not seem to have the same issue. Maybe need to change how the popup is generated, or something along those lines. I have not looked at the code at all. Just noticed the behavior.

Move history to a new location

More a feature request than an issue.

It seems that the clipboard module is storing its history file in the following location

~/cliboard/history

That seems a bit odd. It should likely be hidden at minimum. But may be best in one of the generic directories. I think offhand, maybe

~/.cache/clipboard

Or something like that. Configuration stuff tends to be under

~/.config

It really depends on if clipboard will have other uses for its own directory. If the only use is for the history file. Then cache might make the most sense. Really up to you. I just do not think it should be a visible top level directory in a users home directory. Not like they can really edit that file or do anything other than remove.

Highlight/Select copy with 3rd button paste does not add to history

If I highlight some text, and then paste that into another via 3rd mouse button. That works fine. However the data is not added to the history. It seems to only add when I use a right click copy and/or ctrl-c. Not sure if this is handled better in elm_cnp or not.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves in E, not so much with clipboard. But I frequently highlight some text for copy/paste purposes. Then close that app, just to lose the copy data. Super frustrating and part of the reason I am running clipboard.

I will see about investigating and playing with a fix time permitting. Do not feel pressed to fix this issue. Not sure if this is related to the GTK issue, but it might. If we solve this within E/EFL apps, I think it may help or fix the issue for GTK as well.

Fork clipboard only for e22, issues under e22

Just a heads up, I have no ETA at this time. Not sure your interest level. But seems Clipboard will need some semi major changes for E 22. I think there are build issues, and definitely runtime issues for pre-built. Need to look into exactly what the issues are. I am not so interested in the other modules in this repo at this time. I may in the future.

For now I will likely fork, and strip everything down and rename repo to just Clipboard. I may version it based on E versions. Since it seems as E changes this module will need to be as well. Unless you plan to move it into E itself as part of your probie etc. Short of that being the case. I will proceed with forking and updating for newer E. If you want to focus on supporting Moshka. Either way just letting you know.
