A webextension which would sync firefox containers across multiple devices.

Starting with Firefox 43, add-on extensions and multi-item add-ons that include extensions need to be signed by Mozilla before they can install in release and beta versions of Firefox.
Hi,
Does this require add-on sync to be enabled in Firefox? MAC sync now does, but I was hoping this one maybe has some workaround. I installed it on two machines and did a backup, sync on Machine A and sync, restore on Machine B but the containers haven't synced.
Thanks.
How can I backup my containers from one profile, and then restore them into another profile ... does the extension create a file somewhere that you can copy and move to allow this, and what is the location of this ?
What would be ideal is to sync containers across profiles, not just devices.
I seem to have one computer where I have english firefox and one where I have swedish.
After syncing, I got both english and swedish:
I think they are magic, have special names. Making them possible to translate to different languages.
(I don't want to have bothe english and swedish names.)
Consider adding some sort of progress bar or indicator that the containers are being synced/are synced.
As mentioned in readme:
What does the reset button in the popup do?
It will remove all containers from your device and also from the sync storage
Why is that so? By common sense, it should remove containers from local device only, but keep those in sync storage for further restoring. Moreover, there is no warning for such dangerous action, nor feedback afterwards. Such operations must prompt user for confirmation before simply deleting everything.
I have Container Sync installed on three computers, two Macs and a PC.
I've setup a bunch of containers on one of the Macs, and hit "Backup".
After first syncing that machine with my firefox account, and then syncing the other two, and then clicking "Restore" on the other two, nothing happens. They remain with the default containers.
Any suggestions?
From the FAQ:
- I have set a preference to open a website in a particular container. Will that also be synced?
No. This data is not available to any extensions by the API.
mozilla/multi-account-containers#1095 was merged (and released in 6.0), would this be enough to add syncing of assignments?
(Irrelevant) I also mentioned this plugin in mozilla/multi-account-containers#339.
Contaners are synced between computers, but now I can't delete not-needed containers, because they are always restored from other Firefox instance. How can I solve this problem? Maybe good to add "Remove" button in Containers Sync sidebar, that do full purging of container from all instances?
@ramkumar-kr I tried to use the latest version of your add on (version 1.1.2) and I see that the containers of Machine A (OSX 10.15.3 / FF 71.0) are showing up in the synced containers side bar of machine B (Win 10 / FF 71.0 64 bit) but they are not showing up in the Multi-Account containers tab. So I am not sure how do I use the container functionality on machine B
I'm a little unclear how to use this addon. I have created a few containers on one computer and would like to sync it to another computer. I have the Containers Sync addon installed on both computers, but am unable to figure out how to sync the containers from one to the other. Does synchronisation happen through the Firefox account?
I'm using container-sync on multiple machines with different operating systems and Fx versions. I've heavily modified my containers, and removed all default containers.
Every few days (probably after using Firefox on a different machine), the default containers get restored. It seems like the have been synced at one point (probably after setting up a new profile using Firefox Sync, where the extension gets automatically installed and starts syncing immediately). Since then, they can't be removed from the list of synced containers and will be restored at some point.
This is related to #6, but with the additional problem that the default containers will be synced automatically on a fresh install.
Using the extension "Temporary Containers", all new tabs exist in a fresh, temporary container that is removed some time after closing. By default, these containers are labelled "tmpX", where X is the sequence number of the container (although the "tmp" part is also customizable).
It would be great to have some sort of contains or regex exclude functionality.
