oracle-on-kubernetes's Introduction

Oracle-on-Kubernetes

Oracle-On-Kunernetes is a collection of example Kubernetes Manifest files utilising the Pure Service Orchestrator (PSO) Container Storage Interface (CSI) Driver to provide persistent Block or File (NFS) storage to Oracle Databases containers.

Kubernetes Environment

Oracle-on-Kubernets has been tested on MicroK8s but should also work with other Kubernetes distributions.

Oracle Database Features

  1. Create Oracle 12c, 18c 18c(XE), 19c Database
  2. Stop / Start Databases
  3. Relocate / Move Databases

Getting Started

  1. Create a Kubernetes Cluster using preffered distribution e.g MicroK8s
  2. Download required Oracle Database ZIP files from OTN, a valid OTN account and licences will be requrired.
  3. Pull this Repo
  4. Vist my Blog and read relevant Oracle on Kubernetes posts

Examples

oracle-on-kubernetes's Issues

Oracle RAC kubernetes yaml file

Dear Sir,

We were looking for Oracle RAC kuberentes yaml files for deploying . We need two node RAC in Kubernetes so that even in case one node is drained for patching the other node in the 2 node RAC is up .

Please provide the YAML including creation of the persistent volume that can be deployed on Kubernetes.

Add a sprinkling of High Availability?

Would be great if one could scale up with multiple replicas in a RAC One Node configuration. Draining the kubernetes node for any maintenance while having only a single replica deployed would cause an outage.

The Oracle repo has an Issue logged for developing a Oracle RAC Helm chart. First step would be to develop the raw yaml, as you've done.
