Add Search Bar

Add search bar to NavBar component and add functionality to App for live search

API Setup

  • Setup API for displaying all movies (componentDidMount() in App)
  • Fetch single movie data

Deploy

Research how to deploy

As a user, I can click a movie, and see that movie's details

By end of week 1

  • When a movie's details are displayed, none
of the other movies will be visible; it should just
    be that movie's details.

  • I should be able to see the movie's title,
    average rating, release date, overview,
    budget, genre...

  • When a movie's details are displayed I
should be able to clearly see an 'X' button

  • This button should return to home view
where I can see all the movies again.

  • Each user story includes thorough acceptance criteria
  • Project board has been updated so functionality is described as user stories
  • Each user story includes thorough acceptance criteria
  • BY SUNDAY EVENING AT 5PM...Tag instructors in one PR (don't wait for code review to merge). Can also send them message on slack with PR link.

## README

As a user I should see a header and movies displayed when I visit the app

By end of day, Wed 07/07

  • As a user, when I visit the app, I should see a header with the website title
  • As a user, when I visit the app, all movies should be displayed.
    • The movies I see should include a picture
      with title
    • It should be apparent which movie is being
      hovered over
    • So that I can click on the movie of my
      choice.

## It. 4- Refactoring with Router

End of Thursday Week 2

  • Refactor to use Router instead of conditional rendering to change the view
  • When a user clicks on a movie and the details page is rendered, the URL updates to reflect that movie's unique ID as well
  • No artifacts of the prior code has been left in (no odd workarounds remaining)
  • Continue to rely on your test suite to make sure no functionality is being lost/destroyed as you add in Router
  • Look into Cypress assertions which allow us to view our current URL pathname and add those into your test.
  • Application views and user flows are fully tested
  • Asynchronous functions are stubbed
