How to create a fully automated TV channel with Plex integration.
I'm having major issues with my VLC launch command ...
vlc -vvv "\PlexTVChannel-master\out\playlist1.m3u" --sout-keep --sout '#transcode{vcodec=h264,acodec=aac,vb=800,ab=128} :standard{access=http,mux=ts,dst=192.168.0.49:34401}' --sout-mux-caching=5000
The BEST!!! result I can get, is where it loads the playlist1.m3u file, as an item to play (not a playlist) and it just causes VLC to try playing this file, over and over again.
I've tried and tried to rewrite this command, even referencing the VLC documentation, I've even rewrote this entire command by hand, to no avail.
Any ideas here?
I made it through all the steps, added Xteve to Plex, but the guide is showing empty. I'm running an Ubuntu VM on Windows 10.
I'm trying to run the GeneratePlaylist.py file, but it's immediately failing right out of the gate,
PS C:\Users\Jeff\Desktop\Plex Pseudo TV> python .\PlexTVChannel-master\generatePlaylist.py
Incorrect Usage: python3 generateShowList.py <backup? (yes | no)>
I've edited all the variables as I believe is correct:
########################################################
########################################################
# Edit these variable to your system! #
########################################################
########################################################
cartoons = ["2 Stupid Dogs", "Adventure Time", "American Dad!"]
dir = "Z:/PLEX/Media/TV Shows/" # Directory to grab shows from (make sure there is a "/" at the end!)
tvDirectory = "C:/Users/Jeff/Desktop/Plex Pseudo TV/PlexTVChannel-master" # Directory where files will be generated (make sure there is a "/" at the end!)
commercialsDirectory = "Z:/PLEX/Media/Commercials/" # Directory where commercials will be pulled from (make sure there is a "/" at the end!)
timezone = "GMT-4" # Enter Timezone
showPoster = "C:/Users/Jeff/Pictures/img.jpg"
channelName = "Saturday Morning Cartoons"
[Edit] If I simply comment out the exit()
on line 16, then the script runs, seemingly fine
This is because GeneratePlaylist.py writes a temp_variables.py file to the chosen output directory.
While it seems GenerateXMLTV.py looks for the temp_variables.py in the root directory only.
I had to modify GenerateXMLTV.py to include out.temp_variables
, as my stuff was output to root/out.
Hope this makes sense.
