AssertionError: gdalwarp was not able to resample gebco about atlite HOT 2 CLOSED

Most likely a case of unclear error message paired with broken default settings.

What's happening is that with the new config system, gebco_path is set by default, but does not exist there. Since it is set, the era5 module tries to use the gebco dataset to create the height map, but the file does not exist and gdalwrap throws a non-zero return-code since it does not find one of its inputs.

I'd suggest to change the (1) default setting to not set, and (2) include the stderr of gdalwrap in the raised exception.

• Why the height attribute is reprocessed.
