What is PufferPanel?

PufferPanel is a web-based Game Server Management System. PufferPanel allows you to manage multiple different game servers all from one central location. You can give other users their own servers or allow them to access to your servers.

Installation

Please follow the installation guide for PufferPanel located here.

What's different about PufferPanel?

In addition to being a free and open source project, PufferPanel provides an easy-to-use interface for everyone from individual users to large networks. We strive to create a friendly community, and we would love for you to join us.

documentation's Issues

Potentially outdated section

Hello,

I was reading through the docs and I saw this: https://docs.pufferpanel.com/en/latest/games/minecraft/dependencies.html#multiple-java-versions

Now, this implies you need to add all the java versions you want to pufferfish, but when looking at the log output above, this configuration page seems to be outdated.

Pufferpanel currently pulls binaries (jre's).

I was debating which repository to submit this to, but having pufferfish pull java binaries is very undesired behaviour, it might make things easier for the end user, but it means having duplicate JVMs on the system. If setting the java paths are supported, it should be added to the docs (I am happy to PR if someone tells me how to do it).

Otherwise I will submit a feature request on the main repository.

Missing depenceny

So I believe this is probably a steamcmd issue rather than a PP one however on a clean install running on Ubuntu server I was getting errors when trying to run steamcmd.

After some digging I found out that steamcmd REQUIRES lib32gcc1to be installed otherwise it throws up "file doesn't exist" errors.

Any chance you can add it as a dependency in future builds? Would really help out people who are new to Linux and might think that PP is broken on a clean install.

[Suggestion] Add a troubleshooting page

Currently, it is quite difficult to find information on how to fix common problems. A troubleshooting section of the docs/site would help fix these issues.

No Server Install and Console with Apache Settings

Hi,
I installed pufferpanel and used the proxy settings for apache.
Now, when open the panel with the subdomain, I can login, create and customize the settings of the servers.
But I can't install, start stop or use the console for the server. For that I have to use the ip version of the panel.

Pushing towards docker templates as a default

We get numerous questions in the discord about what boils down to i have an issue with dependencies how fix.

One possible way of dealing with this, and the point of this issue, is that pushing towards using the docker environment would largely eliminate these concerns.

We'll also want to expand https://github.com/PufferPanel/documentation/blob/2.x/source/docker.rst to be a full installation guide to help facilitate this.

At the same time, the existing docker installation guide, should be pushed into the background to discourage its use.

Thoughts?

Missing Garrys Mod depenceny

I dont know if this is true for all source games but at least a gmod server needs lib32stdc++6 and libncurses5:i386 to run and at least on my sever (Ubuntu 18.04.5 64bit) they were not preinstalled. I think this should be documented somewhere.
