When attempting to build this project in Cygwin on Windows 7, I receive the above error.

Package "openssl-devel" has been installed and "ssl.h" (which does indeed contain the function) is found in "/usr/include/openssl/"

Hi. I was having trouble getting this example to run on a Raspberry Pi. It would compile ok, but when run it would produce a message: '[warn] event_add: event has no event_base set.'
Then, Segmentation fault, and crash.
I eventually worked out there was no 'event_init()' called in this code.
After adding 'event_init()' in before the evtimer_set() line in the main function, it works fine.
Not sure if this issue is specific to the hardware, or if it has appeared due to other updates, but adding this line this seems to have fixed it.

Would be useful to have tags denoting release commits -- a quick sanity check that if something works for one developer and not for another, the issue is not because we're using different versions of pubnub-c.
