In order to increase consistency, either British or US American English should be used where there is a difference.

Personally, I would prefer the British one.

As a starting point

When sorting issues by milestone, it is often desireable to filter those issues that already got a PR waiting for review. We should add a label for that status.

We shoud elaborate on what branch is doing what as well as address some common criticism/questions about the relevance of "master".

We should provide additional information on how to install PACKAGE as a development version so developers can run their hacked version via a simple PACKAGE call.

This basically boils down to some prose regarding pip install -e ..

It would be good to have a dedicated label for PRs that after review need adjustments by the original contributor so its easier to filter PRs that do not need immediate actions by the review team.
This can be a simple rebase or actual code changes.
