example-makepkg contains an example for makepkg with a package-function running in a fakeroot with libfakeuser.so as a LD_PRELOAD module.

help or advice

hello,

this ticket is not related to a problem but to a request for help or advice.

I use the file explorer thunar and the editor mousepad as root user and I have a nice warning at the top of their interface.

just like fakeuser, and to avoid recompiling the two tools after modifying the source code, is it possible to make them believe that they are executed by another user while keeping root privileges ?

both tools use the geteuid function to display or not the warning (see here).
