faderfox-editor's Issues

Receive problem

While sending works like a charm, whenever I try to receive syx from the EC4 I'll get the following error message:

Received invalid sysex data. Wrong download type.

It's on the latest Chrome (Win10/64) with a brandnew EC4 with the latest firmware installed. Any idea why this is happening?

Moving/copying knobs and setups

Feature suggestion:

Would be great to not have to bounce back to the device itself just in order to copy or move knobs/setups en masse, ideally with drag and drop.

Defaults when converting from 1.01 SysEx to 2.00 Sysex

Would it be possible to set the default Type, Chan, and Numb values on Push settings when converting from v1.01 SYSEX files to v2.00 SysEx so that the EC4 transmits the same MIDI on push actions as it did in v1.01?

I relied heavily on the global Push: Note setting in 100+ groups. These all got translated to Type = (blank), Chan = 16, and Numb = 0. The v2 editor does (thankfully) allow the Type to be set for an entire group, but the Chan and Numb will have to set by hand for maybe 1000+ encoders, in my case. Daunting and error-prone.

If the editor set Type = Note and Chan and Numb to the same values as the Turn setting, that would be extremely helpful (to me, at least).

List of supported browsers

The readme and the popover message in the editor both state that specifically Google Chrome or Chromium are required, but this is misleading and inaccurate. For instance, Vivaldi works perfectly, and potentially other popular Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Opera, Brave, etc) are likely to work as well.

It would be nice if this could be updated so that people don't think they need to install Chrome or Chromium specifically to use the editor.

Faderfox EC4 Editor (Firmware 2.0) clarification

this isn't an issue but i was wondering if there is a publicly available Faderfox EC4 v2 firmware upgrade? according to Faderfox.de the latest firmware EC4 Version is "01.01 (EC4 V0101.SYX)". assuming there is - or there will be - an ec4 update, i look forward to your EC4v2 Editor (playing with an offline version of 'Faderfox EC4 Editor (Firmware 2.0)' now).

Implement high-resolution data in Macro mode | EC4

Hi Peter (@privatepublic-de),

I'm really grateful for all the work and love put into the design of this editor.

I wonder how I should tweak the Faderfox Universal 2 script for Ableton to have high-resolution data being recognized by the DAW in macro mode.

I dug into the FaderfoxElements class and saw that the 8 encoders are assigned 7-bit consecutive CC values starting from the CC_MACRO_BASE_SELECTED_TRACK. Can these be set up for 14-bit encoding so that Ableton reads high-res data?

Thank you very much in advance.

UC4

Is the UC4 supported?
If not, would you consider adding support for it?

Thank you!
