I think that using x11docker can be useful in this project, because it would signifficantly simplify the Dockerfile and how containers are started. Note that it does not only setup X server settings/parameters, but it also executes commands inside the container with the ID of the user in the host. Hence, the Dockerfile might hopefully be reworked so no hard-coded user is configured.

Is there anyway to fix and continue from this point?
