On line 631 of /3.6/avh-ec.widgets.php, the variables $c, $e, and $h are booleans set using the isset function of php. However the $instance variable being passed in to the widget must have empty strings and not a proper null set as the value of the variable in question. So, whether or not I choose to have RSS feeds, and counts displayed they are on by default.

I hope I am in the right place to report a problem regarding the AVH plugin.

I inherited a website that I am trying to fix ...
The site uses "AVH Extended Categories" to select the content for the front page;
it had an old 3.x version of AVH and there was a group within AVH that contained several categories/terms. This group was set to be shown on the homepage.

I was able to update to AVH 4.0.2 without problems, the articles still showed up.

So after upgrading the plugins, I tried to upgrade wordpress, but with WP 4.4.
the home page has no articles. The settings pages of AVH are available, and
everything seems OK. Switching back to WP 4.0.9, the articles show up again.

The theme is based on Twentytwelve and has a very simple index page:

With WP_DEBUG enabled, there was not much helpful output in the debug log, a couple of these:

Undefined index: menu_grouped in /htdocs/f/f0fdbcf499eb740804584849ea9b6da5/web/beta/wp-content/plugins/extended-categories-widget/4.2/class/avh-ec.admin.php on line 1828

and a fatal one:

PHP Fatal error: Cannot use object of type WP_Error as array in /htdocs/f/f0fdbcf499eb740804584849ea9b6da5/web/beta/wp-content/plugins/extended-categories-widget/4.2/class/avh-ec.category-group.php on line 187

But this didn't help much. Of course, I don't want to waste your time, but maybe you have a pointer for me where to look for additional information to fix this problem.

I've just started using AVH Extended Categories and am wondering if it's possible to change the way results are displayed? Currently the results display as a simple list of post titles, which can be clicked on to expand into the full post. I'd like the actual posts to display in alphabetical or chronological order, rather than a list of post titles. Is this possible? I have absolutely no script writing experience. Thank you

After 4.0.5 hit production we noticed the following Error:

Interestingly enough I could find no 4.0.5 version tag. After diving into the code I can see function avh_wp_list_categories got 'activated' in /avh-ec.core.php and error triggering set into place in avh-ec.category-group.php. Can U help?

Parent categories should count the posts of their children.
