Whenever I try to complete the final step in the instructions by typing "node createCards", I get the following error:

AnkiConnect works on port 8765, as typing "http://localhost:8765/" into a browser shows the message "AnkiConnect v.6". I can only assume that the script cannot connect to Anki.
