(Unofficial) Chiaki builds

Build Release

This is just a repo with Chiaki as a Git submodule, automating the build scripts on GitHub Actions Workflows.

So far only Windows x64 builds have been automated, using both MSYS2 and Visual Studio.

If you want to download the official releases, please check out the original repo: https://git.sr.ht/~thestr4ng3r/chiaki

Why?

Because:

Windows support is reduced to the absolute minimum for maintainability.

SDL2 has not been updated from 2.0.10 (2.0.14 introduced support for Dualsense controllers in Windows), and the binary release has a problem with blinking frames. It seems that building using updated libraries and software fixes these issues, so I wanted to automate this to be as open as possible.

What's updated by new libraries?

  • Support for PlayStation Dualsense and XBox Series S|X controllers
  • Hardware video acceleration for decoding

What's not updated?

  • Choppy audio (YMMV)

What's missing (but from the official release, too)?

  • Motion controls
  • Rumble / force feedback
  • Adaptative triggers

chiaki-builds's Issues

Thank you.

Hi, I posted to the reddit thread the other day in hopes you might see it not realizing the account was deleted lol.
So I am posting here in hopes I can get a message to you.

I am posting here just to say two things:

#1. Thank you very much for this build, because unlike the official build this has working hardware decoders (and more options as well).
I am able to use CUDA decoder option with H265 and the maximum bitrate of 99,999 (overkill, but did it just to test) without any issues with glitches and the video quality is near perfect (similar to the quality I get from Parsec), I do of course have to use the VC non QT build so I can delete the qtaudio_windows.dll to get audio where I want it, but also I can set the buffer to 1000 and it's pretty much instant audio/visual sync.
So again, thank you for your build.

#2. I am wondering if there are any plans to/if it is possible to get an updated build that uses the latest 2.2 build with the DualSense haptics and adaptive trigger support? Other than the lack of the newer DualSense features your build is in my opinion superior to the official build because it has working hardware decoders.

Refresh versions

Chiaki should be updated to 8911a447

SDL should be updated to 2.28.3

Check nasm, ffmpeg, nanopb

Thanks for this unofficial build,i have a few questions to ask

Thanks for this unofficial build, the original version crashes on my computer
This build works great, streaming PS5 works fine.

There are a few questions I've been wanting to know

1)Where are the software settings saved?

If you can export the settings like the Android version
So it is very convenient to switch between different computers to play games
Is there any hope of adding this feature to the PC version?

2)What is the difference between the different versions in Release?

Disable SDL2

How do I disable SDL2 support? The issue is that I''m getting duplicate input because I'm using a Switch Pro Controller paired with a program called Betterjoy. this program creates a HID-compliant gamepad to remap Switch pro controller to xinput. Since this build has support for SDL2 im getting duplicate input whenever I press the face buttons. The face buttons on a Switch pro controller is the opposite layout on that of a xinput controller thus pressing A results in Chiaki reading both A from SDL2 (Switch pro) and B for (Xinput via better joy).
