Upon investigating your solution I found an alternative that I feel is a bit better. Rather than installing Oracle's jre to get the browser plugin you can simply install "icedtea-7-plugin" which is icedtea's browser plugin for java.

$ apt-get install icedtea-7-plugin

You may want to consider adding this to your README. I'd also suggest adding that the TiddlySaver.jar is needed in luakit as saving does not work without it.
