peazip.github.io's Introduction

PeaZip free archiver

PeaZip is a free file archiver utility and rar extractor for Windows and Linux, work with 200+ archive types and variants (7z, ace, arc, bz2, cab, gz, iso, paq, pea, rar, tar, wim, zip, zipx...), handle spanned archives (001, r01, z01...) and support multiple archive encryption standards.

The project aims to provide a cross-platform, portable, GUI frontend for multiple Open Source technologies (7-Zip, FreeArc, PAQ, PEA, UPX) focused on file and archive management, and security (strong encryption, two factor authentication, encrypted password manager, secure delete).

The program is written in Lazarus / FreePascal (Windows installable packages are scripted with InnoSetup) and offers a LGPLv3 alternative to proprietary software (WinZip, WinRar, etc), running as native application on Windows/Win64, Wine/ReactOS, and Linux x86/x86-64, with Linux ARM and BSD ports also available.

Consider adding your blog to diff.blog

Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹ ๐Ÿ‘‹

Over the past decade, we have seen the rise of centralized publishing platforms like Medium. A lot of self hosted blogs were migrated to these platforms in hope of a bigger audience. Sadly, most of these blogs lost their unique identity and became just another page on them.

Our mission is to fight back against monopolies like Medium and promote independent self hosted blogs like yours. We think the best way to make this happen is by improving the visibility and reach of self hosted blogs. And that's why we built diff.blog.

diff.blog is an aggregator of developer blogs. It was started in 2019 to improve the visibility of self hosted blogs. Whenever you publish a new blog post on your blog, it would automatically appear in the diff.blog news feed. The title and summary of the post would be visible to the users of diff.blog and they can click on the post to read the full post on your blog.

We also have a weekly email digest, which would email the most popular blog posts in our index to all diff.blog users.

diff.blog index over 633 blogs at the moment. And our network is growing steadily every day. And we would like to invite you to include your blog in diff.blog as well.

Adding your blog to diff.blog is super easy and takes less than a minute.

We are looking forward to have your blog in diff.blog. Let us know if you have any questions. Happy to answer.

Windows Security? - Can not "right click -> Peazip -> Add to ZIP".

Hello

Thanks for all your effort with Peazip.

I have an issue in Windows 10 while trying to zip a group of files.
I zip them by "selecting the file" and "right click -> Peazip -> Add to ZIP".

imagen

But Windows starts to ask me permissions over the file and that interrupt the right creating of the file.
imagen

It is like Windows is trying to open the files to zip those and since they were downloaded are asking for permission.

Is there any security settings I may be missing?

Regards

use case: PeaZip and docsify?

Hi all.

1. Idea

I would like to contribute to PeaZip by redesigning the documentation page, I'm thinking of using the docsify framework because it only works with html, css and js. And there is a very pleasant visual pattern to facilitate reading.

2. why?

  1. PeaZip would be more responsive and usable for anyone
  2. I would like to contribute with PeaZip and docsify

3. question/feedback

What do you all think of the idea?

Progress bars are showing job counts not progress.

image

here you can see that its converting job 158/160... there are only 2 jobs left. so the green progress bar is almost finished.
but last 2 jobs are each more than 100gb+
first 158 job took 10minutes to complete but last 2 jobs will take each 60 minutes.
but peazip shows as it is almost finised. maybe it should clarify it is showing job count but not the actual progress.

also thre should be another progress bar that also includes maybe compressing to. according to visuals my compression will finish but its not. we are only at extracting right now.
