zirkonium's Issues

Crash on load

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Download and install most recent Zirkonium from google code
2. Open the application

The application crashes on load.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

OSX 10.6.2

Crash log attached

Zirkonium device mode does not output any sound

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start Logic.
2. If Zirkonium is already set as the audio device, change it to something else.
3. Change the device back to Zirkonium.
4. Playback any sound.
5. Restart Zirkonium.
6. Playback sound.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
No sound is output to the hardware device unless Logic starts up with Zirkonium
set as audio
device. It should be possible to switch back and forth without losing sound
output.

Dome display overlaps with span angles over 180ΒΊ

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load the Zirkalloy AU within a host program.
2. Change the azimuth span to 270 degrees.
3. Raise zenith.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
In order to match the display and behaviour of the Zirkonium application, the
sections of the dome
that overlap should be filled in, or perhaps made darker. They are currently
hollowed out as if not
part of the selected spatialization.

HTRF outputs jot ajustable

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. When the Virtual speakers output is set to 5.0, the outputs of the
Zirkonium don't correspond to the Dolby standard: LRCLfeLsRs. And the
outputs at this stage are not configurable.

Please provide any additional information below.
This should be adjusted

Zirkalloy AU crashes auval

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run auval -v aufx ZKAl ZKMk
2. Observe the crash

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The audio unit should pass (or fail) the audio unit validation. The crash that
occurs instead may
indicate an underlying condition that could cause issues with host programs.

Zirkaloy 0.1 doesn't work in Dp 6.02

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Actually it is difficult to test since DP doesn't accept the Zirkonium
as a valid setup for outputs. The only sampling frequency available is 32
kHz, which DP consider as impossible. So it is not possible to go any further

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

OSX 10.5.7
DP 6.02
Zirkonium 0.98
Zirkaloy 0.1
RME Fireface 800

Please provide any additional information below.

Zirk AZ doesn't work at 48kHz on a MacBook Pro

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Just use the Zirkonium at 48 kHz

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

ZirkAZ like Zirkonium is supposed to work at the sample rate chosen in the
CoreAudio Preferences. But it works only at 44,1kHz. DP5 or DP6 simply
refuse the Zirkonium as a valid outputs in 48k. In logic, it is possible to
chose 48kHz but there is no sound.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Mac OSX 10.5.6
Zirkonium 0.918
Digital performer 5.13 or 6.02
Logic Pro 8.02

Please provide any additional information below.

For these tests I used the audio card of a MacBook Pro

Zirkaloy 0.1 doesn't work properly on Logic 8.02

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Logic accepts the Zirkonium as a valid output setup. But the AU
Validation process considers that the Zirkaloy is not valid.
2. Despite that, it is possible to use it in an octophonic setup.
3. In a mono track (mono soundfile) with a stereo outputs 1-2, the AU is
capable pof controling the sound movements in the Zirkonium and the sound
gors out from the Zirkonium on the 8 outputs. The problem is that the sound
also goes out from Logic to the first 2 outputs, 1-2, which then receive
twice the information (plus some delays du to the Zirkonium).
4. In a mono track (mono soundfile) with a sourround outputs (7.1), the
sounds goes out exclusively from Logic to output 1-2. The movements of the
sound is still controlled in the Zirkonium via the AU, but no sound travels
from the Logic to the Zirkonium.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Same as previous issue

IDs do not have a textual name

IDs cannot be identified with a string. As the number of IDs, files and
channels grow, and especially
when using Zirkonium in device mode, this lack of textual description can make
it hard to
distinguish between different IDs. A simple string option should help clarify
this.

Zirkalloy AU does not differentiate between mono and stereo streams

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Within any host program, create a stereo track.
2. Attach Zirkalloy to the stereo track.
3. Notice the option to change active side from left to right is available.
4. Create a mono track.
5. Attach Zirkalloy to the mono track.
6. Notice the active side option still displays, even though there is no such
thing on a mono track.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Zirkalloy should only use one set of parameters and hide the active side option
when instantiated
on a mono track.
