scripts's Issues

script not working at system start up

Hey there,

I am using your script on a Ubuntu 14.04 Server and everything works fine, when calling

sudo service kibana4_init start

manually. But it does not perform desired action at boot time.
I placed your script in /etc/init.d/ and I also symlinked it into all my rcX.d directories (I used update-rc.d for this), but kibana is not starting up at boot time. I always have to trigger it manually afterwards.

Do you have any clue what might cause this?

I also tried on a Ubuntu 14.10 server with the same effect.

Thanks,
Alex

btw thanks I'm lazy

so I used this.
Couple of suggestions.

  1. I'd change it to provides kibana4, etc. In case version changes. but that's my own bag
  2. You really don't need any of the java stuff in there since kibana4 uses node.js not java

The script doesn't start Kibana

I tried running the script but it doesn't start kibana, so I have to start it manually

I'm using Ubuntu Mate 15.10.

In syslog I can see * Starting Kibana4 and then HTTP/1.1 200 OK then false and ...done.
So I assume it finds ElasticSearch but for some reason Kibana doesn't start.

Any idea what I can do?
