Something wrong with the Fetching Subtitles

------Rejet has a weird folder hierarchy for their games.
>I added Black Wolves Saga and TOKYO ヤマノテ BOYS SUPER MINT to the Spring 
Board. (Both games from the same company: Rejet)
>They were successfully detected but the program thought they were of the same 
game.

TTS doesn't work since it started using WMP instead of quicktime

No sound comes out of TTS anymore since the quicktime option disappeared from 
my preferences/locations. There's only the option to use windows media player 
now (which I do have installed) but it doesn't play any sound. Nothing happens 
no matter what I do or how many times I reinstall.

Advice about the text reader in the VNR

Hello,

The VNR freeware is so amazing. I find it usefully not only when playing visual 
novel but also reading text. However, there is a big problem during the 
translation. The text reader always reports that the text is too long to be 
translated. Well, 100-200 Japanese word is not quite long to me but the text 
reader keeps saying that is too long. I wonder if there are any setting 
allowing me to increase the word limit of the text reader. I know the function 
of limit word number is adjustable during playing visual novel game, but I 
cannot find any ways to change it when I using text reader to read Japanese 
article. If there is, please tell me. If not, I hope the limitation will become 
adjustable for user. I really hope that I can use VNR to translate Japanese 
article in the future.

Im having this issue "Game text is ignored for being too long (>26)" and I 
couldnt find anything or someone having the same problem. The long text is 
"skipped" and I cant understand the game. This happens with all the visual 
novels I tried

Compatibility Problem?

My laptop is using Win 7 Ultimate 
System type is 64 bit OS

When I finish the installation, it seems the program didn't work, I'd waited 
for hours but nothing happen, when I checked through task manager, in the 
process tab, I noticed there were an app name "pythonw.exe" appeared and then 
vanished in very short time whenever I tried to open VNR.

for the annot-player, it prompted me: "the program didn't start because 
MSVCP100.dll is missing from my computer, try reinstalling the program to fix 
the problem" 

I tried to erased and reinstall VNR (run it as administrator), but it all the 
same result as above.

I wonder if there is any other problem about compatibility between OS version 
and how to fix it?

TTS function of VNR doens't work


When I setup "speech" in preference menu, I checked google tts option, there is 
nothing came out from neither the "Test box" or in the game.(The translator 
works all fine)

I already updated the VNR and deleted, reinstalled twice and still the problem 
exists.

I am using win7 32 bits version. Both msvc 2008 and 2010 were installed, 
internet works fine and I am living in Canada.

March 22nd Update repetitions doesn't effectively stop all repetitions

Thanks for the adding the repetitions elimination feature to the most recent 
update. One thing noticed is that it does not effectively cut out constant 
repeats being taken from the clipboard. Same issue as before and here is a 
video one the issue I am having.

I captioned English text onto the video on what I'm seeing. I would talk on my 
mic for this, however people are currently asleep at my house. The captions 
might be faster at the end so please pause if needed to read things. I gave an 
example that might give the repetition elimination feature on your VNR more 
powerful control.

in new versions of the TTS operates only for Japanese text

Early in the program can be used TTS for automatic voice to translate the 
subtitles (you can listen to the translation),
 but in the new versions I can't get this TTS works only for Japanese text, and refuses to automatically read the translation of subtitles(English,Russian)
 reads the current in case of if you click twice on the translation window.
 Can I do that automatically read (TTS) translation of subtitles and not only the Japanese original text?

in version 1/20/2014 no voice (tts) translated text in English or Russian
in version 7/15/2013 voice text to English, and Russian works fine
 I apologize for the curve used English translator.

Multimonitor support

Hi guys

I have 2 monitor and vnr works correctly only if game's window on main montor. 
Second monitor not detected. If game's window on it, vnr think that game's 
window was minimazed.

Could you add some fixes for this?

Entered subtitles disappear after rereading the same lines and gametext not appearing when shown below.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. After putting subs, I close the VN.
2. I open again and play the same scene I translated.
3. Sometimes game text not shown above as should be and sometimes subbed lines 
are not shown.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

TTS ISSUE

hi ive been using the TTS function recently for VNR, using it to hear the 
narrator's speech, but i can't seem to apply the TTS for the main character

Please add option to disable "auto remove game"

Hi, I've been using VNR for a few months now and I'm loving it, but something 
happened to me today that almost caused me to become very close to raging... 

First of all some questions, where is all the data for storing the info onto 
the springboard for what games you have installed? Is there any way to restore 
it?

The thing is, I install all my games on an external drive. Just yesterday, I 
ran VNR without my external drive being on (it usually is on, but this time it 
wasn't) and it removed ALL 20+ game settings I had setup for VNR! This is 
extremely annoying for me! Do I really have to setup every game I have all over 
again or is there some backup thing somewhere? -_-;;

visual novel reader can't end automatically when shutdown

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. run visual novel reader
2. wait program initialization ends
3. shutdown computer

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
visual novel reader should end automatically and computer shutdown.
But visual novel reader can't end.

Blinking triangles that indicate more in conversation.

There are games like Sisters: Last Days of Summer where it uses this repeated 
blinking triangle in the GlyphOutlineA used to indicate more in the 
conversation which throws off the machine, offline, and user translations. 
Since it blinks fast repeatedly you cannot write any subtitles down. I know ITH 
has such a function which can suppress it given a set number so that it doesn't 
show that often. Maybe need something added for such games.

Cannot start Annot Reader

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Download
2. Run update
3. Start Visual Novel Reader.exe

Some kind of splash screen appears and immediately disappears, mouse cursor 
changes to blue and nothing else happens.
"Debug Reader.cmd" stops with following error:

Issues with VNR

actually i don't know this is a bug or this only happens to me, but i'm going 
to ask anyway.

I was playing Koihime Musou and i discovered that VNR couldn't extract the 
letter "昱".
For example, 
this is what i got using VNR
「郭嘉。あなたは程のその作戦、どう見たの?」華琳
and this is what i got using ITH
「郭嘉。あなたは程昱のその作戦、どう見たの?」華琳

Hope u guys fix it soon, or if this just happens to me, pls tell me how to fix 
it ><

Each time VNR is upgraded, all previously set up game information is lost

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install VNR on Win7 system, set up several VNs using the wizard
2. Install auto-update
3. Restart VNR, all previously set up VN information is gone

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Auto-update shouldn't wipe cached VN information

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest version.

Does not matter which VN has been set up, has happened across multiple systems.

First of all, I want to thank you for your excellent programma.Aiuterà many 
users with little experience with programs such as ITH and ATLAS.

I have a question. I am a italian man.On the languages ​​supported by the 
program not have the linguage Italian.

If the program uses an external translator, you may also enter the Italian

Otome games garbage text showing translation box

I'm using the PPSSPP emulator in conjunction with VNR on Windows 8. 

I have had this issue accross multiple games (Brothers Conflict: Brilliant Blue 
and Jewelic Nightmare) where the garbage text shows up in the translation box. 
The text thread seems to be fine because there's no garbage in the view in the 
text settings. There is only a #n occasionally in the text which I have a 
feeling triggers the garbage text because of the placement of the garbage text 
in the line. I attached some screen shots of the issue. Is there something I 
need to do to get rid of the garbage text? I hadn't had this issue until today 
and I hadn't changed anything (the #n hasn't been a problem in the past as 
early as yesterday) so I don't know what has changed.

Visual novel subbing problem Fortissimo EXS

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I put in the subtitle below and send it. Nothing happens yet.
2. I use the Edit function and then edit some subs.
3. After using Edit, Visual Novel Reader hangs then something like python is 
not responding appears and VNR shuts down.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When I open VNR again, it says it can't sync with Fortissimo EXS running.
I close Fortissimo EXS and restart it or both of them. It opens properly this 
time but the subtitles I made were not saved or seen when I play the same scene 
again.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Visual Novel Reader. Updated just this day, 3/17/13 on Windows 7 32 bit

It sometimes happen after just making and submitting subtitles, sometimes when 
I use Edit.

Fullscreen padding on multi monitor systems

VNR fullscreen mode with padding on causes the padding to overlap onto 
secondary monitors.

Game fullscreen works fine, but I am able to achieve a higher resolution using 
VNR's Ratio fullscreen mode. However, the black padding it puts on either side 
of the game window overlaps onto and obscures secondary monitors. VNR also sets 
the taskbar to autohide, even if the taskbar is also on a different monitor to 
the game window.

***The black bars at the top and bottom of Mon #2 are black parts of the 
wallpaper, however the large black block covering the second half of Mon #2 is 
the VNR right padding, and is always on top.

Random crashes on 0.1.7-win

Annot player suddenly crashes after clicking for the next screen of a game. 
Restarting the game and replay the same part of the script doesn't necessarily 
reproduce the error.

The game still run but Annot player crashes.

Text disappears on second monitor/TV

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start a game
2. Move it to your secondary monitor/TV (used as extended mode)
3. the text window will disappear, even if you move it manually the second 
screen it just can't be seen. Same with the menubar.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I should see the game with menu and text on my secondary monitor (in this case 
TV), like I see it on my primary monitor.

Text parsing / dictionary lookup on mouse-over is awkward.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enable dictionary lookup on mouseover.
2. Install and enable MeCab parsing with either Unidic or IPAdic, and phrase 
parsing with either Vicon or EDICT.
3. Run and hook a compatible Japanese VN.
4. Scroll over words from left to right as if you were looking up every word.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
In Translation Aggregator + JParser (using EDICT), scrolling over words looks 
them up nearly instantaneously, the entry displayed is always for the word 
currently being hovered over by the mouse pointer, and the entry remains 
displayed until the mouse pointer is no longer over the word.  In VNR (also 
using EDICT), surrounding words other than the word being howvered over tend to 
be looked up (especially previous words), and the entry disappears after about 
5s of hovering over the word.

Help with the Springboard opening?

I have a Windows 7 laptop, and I was going to play a VN (obviously), but when I 
click on the VNR the mouse changes, and a large blue circle appears with an 
hourglass in it, but the Springboard never opens up.

I'm not sure how to fix it, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled it multiple 
times, only to have it continue doing the same thing.

Visuel Novel Reader won´t start

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. I downloaded the newest Version of VN Reader. Extract it.
2. Then i start the Update.exe all worked fine.
3. Then i want to start the Visual Novel Reader.exe, i get a blue cursor and 
get a the loading screen. But nothing happens afterwards, the springboard 
don´t load.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I see no error or anything.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I use Win7 64bit and the newest version of VNR 150503

Please provide any additional information below.

I have all Avira and Firewalls disabled. Looked also in the Taskmanager when i 
start VNReader.exe i see 3s a programm called pythonw.exe but this programm 
closed very fast. Then nothing happens, no springboard opens.

I checked with Visual Novel Reader debug. File attached.

I tested it on the PC from my friend same specs and it works without problems. 
Don´t know why it dosn´t work on my laptop.
