http://blog.openstreetmap.org/?lang=ru is missing cyrillic subsets for Open Sans web font declaration. They should be included by translating no-subset to cyrillic (see this code fragment). It seems the current translation doesn't do so. And there are no .po/.mo files on github, so it falls on the person with access to the server.

This new rss icon #5 would ideally not be appearing on join.osmfoundation.org, since there is no active blog on that wordpress instance.

We're based on a an old theme, "twentytwelve" which dates from ... 2012. There's probably some upstream maintenance we might try to merge in, or we might simply re-do our theme based off something newer. Either way I suspect the weird issues like #10 may go away if we update things.

Also with the design I originally tried to mimic the look of the diaries, but then they changed a bit, so re-doing that whole thing wouldn't be such a bad idea.

I can volunteer to do this work (again) if you like, or if someone else is keen.

Add an RSS link somewhere

It could be added somewhere via widgets, e.g. the "links" managed here https://blog.openstreetmap.org/wp-admin/link-manager.php except that these appear under 'blogroll'

Didn't blog.openstreetmap.org used to have the OSM favicon? (same as openstreetmap.org)

It's showing the wordpress "W" favicon these days.

Replace it with the same osm favicon (This issue is not about discussing what the favicon should be. Just that it shouldn't be the wordpress "W")

Just that everything is together and editable by the necessary persons.
I'm not having a strong opinion on that but I think it would be a good thing.

With the new category drop-down in the side panel, selecting a category works OK for most of them, but for some it loads a URL which selects a different language!

That's just looking at the categories while in 'english' language, but different languages cause a different list of categories, which may be part of the problem.
