Ideas for environment

Environment is land + sky
Getting water from land:
- Rain + ground waters
- Roots placed one above the other -> less rain waters
- Deeper roots -> more ground waters
Getting light from sky:
- Leaves placed one above the other -> less light
- Higher leaves -> more light

Ideas for characteristics

Grow leaves/branches to the sideways or upwards, as a function of distance from middle of the plant and distance from ground
Decide whether to grow fruits as a function of age, water available and light available
Grow either leaves or branches, as a function of light history
Grow roots to the sideways or upwards, as a function of distance from middle of the plant and distance from surface
