Hello human, I'm @whedon, a robot that can help you with some common editorial tasks. @RobertTalbert it looks like you're currently assigned as the editor for this paper 🎉
For a list of things I can do to help you, just type:
@whedon commands
from jose-reviews.
Attempting PDF compilation. Reticulating splines etc...

@mroman42 Everything looks to be in order with the submission. I'll be looking for reviewers for it presently. BTW this looks extremely cool -- I was teaching myself
from jose-reviews.
@ahmaurya Would you be willing to serve as a reviewer for this submission?
Also @MattForshaw would you be willing to serve as a reviewer for this submission?
from jose-reviews.
@RobertTalbert I will be happy to serve as a reviewer. Could you please advise on timescales?
from jose-reviews.
Thanks @MattForshaw. I don't believe we have hard-and-fast time limitations on these reviews but obviously sooner is better. I would say within 30 days, but if you need more time I think that would be OK as long as it doesn't drag on. @labarba Correct me if I'm wrong on anything here.
from jose-reviews.
@MattForshaw Here's the documentation on the review process to give you a sense of what's involved: https://joss.readthedocs.io/en/latest/reviewer_guidelines.html
from jose-reviews.
@whedon assign @MattForshaw as reviewer
from jose-reviews.
OK, the reviewer is @MattForshaw
from jose-reviews.
@RobertTalbert Are you going to want a second reviewer here, or are happy with just one (plus your editorial review)?
from jose-reviews.
@labarba I solicited a second reviewer (@ahmaurya) but haven't heard back yet. Do I need to assign both reviewers at the same time? It looked in the editorial guide like I could do one now and the other later.
from jose-reviews.
Best to wait for a couple of days for a response from the potential second reviewer.
Then you add them here (@whedon add @username as reviewer
) — then start the review (@whedon start review
). That way, each reviewer gets their own checklist on the review issue.
from jose-reviews.
Update: I sent an email to @ahmaurya to see if he's interested in reviewing. I'm giving it a day or two, and then if I haven't heard back I'll move on to another second reviewer.
from jose-reviews.
Hi. I am not very familiar with lambda-calculus. As a result, I need to decline the review request especially because there will be many more people far better equipped to perform this review.
from jose-reviews.
OK, thanks @ahmaurya.
from jose-reviews.
I've contacted another person for the second reviewer slot. Again, I'll give it a day or two and then we'll decide what to do from here. If finding a person who feels qualified to look at lambda calculus is an issue, I may do the second review myself or just stick with one reviewer.
from jose-reviews.
@whedon assign @MattForshaw as reviewer
@whedon assign @aj2duncan as reviewer
from jose-reviews.
OK, the reviewer is @MattForshaw

@whedon assign @aj2duncan as reviewer
from jose-reviews.
OK, the reviewer is @aj2duncan
from jose-reviews.
@whedon start review
from jose-reviews.
OK, I've started the review over in #29. Feel free to close this issue now!

Apparently I don't know how to close an issue. Help?
from jose-reviews.
Did you want to add two reviewers?
from jose-reviews.
Yes, I thought I did that a few comments up. When I added the second reviewer did it just overwrite the first one? I was following the instructions in the editors guide or so I thought.
from jose-reviews.
If so, the process was: on separate issue comments first:
@whedon assign @username as reviewer
then (next comment):
@whedon add @username as reviewer
from jose-reviews.
@whedon
only hears one command per issue comment.
from jose-reviews.
@whedon list reviewers
from jose-reviews.
Here's the current list of reviewers: https://bit.ly/jose-reviewers
from jose-reviews.
If you scroll to the top of this issue, you'll see the only @aj2duncan
is listed as reviewer.
from jose-reviews.
@whedon add @MattForshaw as reviewer
from jose-reviews.
OK, @MattForshaw is now a reviewer
from jose-reviews.
Now, the add ... as reviewer
command for the second reviewer needs to be issued before the start review
command to get two reviewer checklists (one per reviewer) in the reviewer issue.
from jose-reviews.
Your latest command did add the second reviewer here: you see it in the header of this Pre-review issue.
from jose-reviews.
I've added Matt as the second reviewer. I had already issued the start review
command before then. Do I just re-run it now, or do I need to unassign all the reviewers and start over?
from jose-reviews.
The review issue was already created (with just one review checklist) over at #29 .
Don't worry: I will manually edit the issue comment there to add another checklist.
Closing this issue now (with the Close button below a comment!).
