open-in-new-window's Issues

Add compatibility for WSL

I am currently only developing on my Linux sub system.
I am running Ubuntu 20.04 on WSL2.

VSCode runs with the WSL extension installed.
If you use the option from the extension to open a file in a new window, the new window is simply blank and nothing is opened.

Add opening option to tab context menu

Currently the option to open a file in a new window is only available in the context menu in the file explorer on the side.

It would be very handy if you could right click an open editor tab and have the context option as well in case you have many files in your project.

Make open in new window defalut behavior for file opening

Thank you for your work!

Do you think there is any way to extend this to make new window the default behavior for file opening?

I looked a bit into the extension API, but could not figure out which event to use to trigger the behavior (onFileSystem:file? workspace.onDidOpenTextDocument(textDocument)?) and how to pass on the right file to be used.

Remove/disable notification that appears when new window is opened

Hi, a quick request for you: can you remove the notification that is shown when the context menu item is used to open a folder in a new window? (The one which says Opening ${uri.path} in new window!, that is).

It seems unnecessary since it is obvious that the new window has opened. Also, it's a bit bothersome, because it means I have to go back to the other window to dismiss it. I think it would be cleaner without it :)
