This is a solution to the Product feedback app challenge on Frontend Mentor. Frontend Mentor challenges help you improve your coding skills by building realistic projects.

Table of contents

Overview

The challenge

Users should be able to:

  • View the optimal layout for the app depending on their device's screen size
  • See hover states for all interactive elements on the page
  • Create, read, update, and delete product feedback requests
  • Receive form validations when trying to create/edit feedback requests
  • Sort suggestions by most/least upvotes and most/least comments
  • Filter suggestions by category
  • Add comments and replies to a product feedback request
  • Upvote product feedback requests
  • Bonus: Keep track of any changes, even after refreshing the browser (localStorage could be used for this if you're not building out a full-stack app)

product-feedback-app's Issues

Define and implement the order of the imports.

I still need to define all types of imports, but here is a simple example:

// Components
import Card from "@components/Card";
import FeedbackForm from "@components/FeedbackForm";
import GoBackLink from "@components/GoBackLink";

// Styles
import styles from "./feedbackNew.module.css";

// Utils, images
import { ReactComponent as PlusIcon } from "@assets/plus-icon.svg";

Evaluate removing `className` prop from components

The issue with having that prop is that we are using css modules in this project.
And you can pass as prop a class with the same name, you can end up with html like this:

<div class="_card_1vxfd_1 _card_1v4l8_48">

The names of the classes are still unique, but it looks like you make a mistake.

i18n

Mid to long term goal: Implement i18n for the app.

English and Spanish.

Refactor Tag and CheckableTag

Figure out how to create a better relationship between the two components

Possible paths to follow:

  • CheckableTag maybe should import Tag instead of only importing it's styles
  • Or each should have its own styles module ?
