s27's Introduction

S27

A controlled vocabulary for the chemical object entity component of a P01 parameter concept in the BODC parameter semantic model

Terms and mappings available from: http://vocab.nerc.ac.uk/collection/S27/current/

Search interface: https://www.bodc.ac.uk/resources/vocabularies/vocabulary_search/S27/

S27 concepts are identified by their CAS Registry Number when one exists and mapped to entities defined in the Chemical Entities of Biological Interest (ChEBI) database if a match is found at the time the concept is created.

New chemical substances added for SIMM (Systeme d'Information sur le Milieu Marin) (BODCNVS-1135)

As part of a project funded by Ifremer, a total of 300 new chemical substances was added to the S27 chemical substance vocabulary in view of using these terms to create new P01 variables for SIMM. The new substances covered mainly contaminants and biotoxins that were missing from S27. See full list below along with the category they are held under in the Sandre (French national Water Information System (SIE: Système d’information sur l’eau). The new S27 concepts were created with a mapping to the SANDRE equivalent to facilitate future interoperability requirement.
