I believe we already have some auto checks that Zeit goes through when we publish new changes to make sure other things didn't break.
Anyway, some things that Derek and I talked about auto checking:
You might need to talk to @tannerlinsley about this one.
Right now they are left aligned. Make them centered please.
If you go to nozzle.io/blog, you will see that each post has it's published date under it's title and those are the correct dates.
But when you click into the posts, you'll notice that the date displayed there is different on some of them. For example, https://nozzle.io/blog/9-features-love-rank-math-seo-plugin/ shows Feb 24, 2020 instead of Feb 20, 2020 when looking at it from nozzle.io/blog.
Maybe it's pulling in the date from when it was last updated. Just a guess.
Please fix it so the date on the post URL is the published date as well.
I recently discovered that Contentful lets me publish without a category selected but when you go to the URL to view it, it comes up as a 500 error.
Either make it so it won't let me publish without choosing a category (the preferable option)
or make it so it so the post can be served up without a category.
I'd expect the footer to be centered like the header menu is
Jake,
URGENT (sort of) because I want to publish a post soon containing many embedded tweets.
I want to embed the following tweet into a blog post: https://twitter.com/Jammer_Volts/status/1095150399034601473
When I click on the dropdown and click Embed Tweet, I get the following code:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-theme="light"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Disallow: * <a href="https://t.co/Y3FerumPmW">pic.twitter.com/Y3FerumPmW</a></p>— Jamie Alberico (@Jammer_Volts) <a href="https://twitter.com/Jammer_Volts/status/1095150399034601473?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">February 12, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
When I paste it into my blog post, it doesn't show the image and it just doesn't look the way it's supposed to look. It's pasted in the following blog post that is unpublished: https://app.contentful.com/spaces/z8uwv83tofbw/entries/1rdXEOa8xOHFwOcy4Yfkwz.
I published the post for a second to take a screenshot of what it will look like and you can see that here: https://share.getcloudapp.com/04uKOe4D
A couple of examples of how normal twitter embeds look:
After the twelfth post, we need pagination links that will go to page 2, 3, 4, etc.
Look at moz.com/blog as an example.
We need to 301 redirect the www version of the site to the non www version. Right now it just pulls up an invalid response page.
Then I can add testimonials one by one as I get them.
I suppose I'll need a field for all of the following:
At the top of each post, it says "1 min read" but when you are on nozzle.io/blog, you'll see what appears to be a more accurate estimation.
Please display the proper read time on the individual post URL's.

I think we need to include links from our footer to these pages
exactly like the one you see on https://moz.com/blog/10x-seo-reports minus the thumbs up and comments links.
Make sure the twitter icon, when clicked populates post title, url, and "via @nozzleio"
Occasionally I may want to change the URL of a blog post. When I do that, it would be nice if it a 301 redirect was automatically created from the old slug to the new slug. I believe wordpress does this. Hopefully Contentful has a way to do this as well.
Please rearrange the fields in the blog post edit view so the first three are:
Currently our blog posts only show the author name at the top of the post.
We want it to also include an author bio section at the end of the post which pulls in the details from the "Biography" field from Author Entry in contentful. You can find that info here for example: https://app.contentful.com/spaces/z8uwv83tofbw/entries/XhhxZaYtE9D8WS87aHgyt
If that field is blank, then we don't want posts written by that author to have an author bio section.
Here are 3 examples of author bios to get an idea on how to make ours look:
By default, the Title of a post becomes the Title Tag of the page which is a great default.
But in the case where I want to test different title tags for a post, I need a Title Tag field added to Contentful.
We'd want the page to pull the Title Tag from the Title Tag field first, but if it's blank to continue to pull from the post's Title field.
I have a handful of interns helping me gather some of the info included within some of my posts. It would be nice to add them as contributors to the articles they help on so they can get some credit for their work and to help their portfolio.
One example of a company doing this can be found here: https://ahrefs.com/blog/rel-prev-next-pagination/ Scroll to the bottom of the post to see what I mean.
My guess is that you'd need to create a contributor field in contentful for us to choose contributors from a list of our authors in the system. And then from there, just make the author bio also look at that field and pull in a small image and their name in addition to the normal author bio stuff.
I created a new content type in Contentful to describe our metrics. I'd like to create a page that lists them all out to help as we increase our marketing.
Testing with Chrome Dev tools, there seems to be a small transparent margin between the mobile navbar and the mobile menu across all mobile devices as displayed on the image below
The navbar container .cTFzFf
has a height of 52px. However the navbar .inner
doesn't have a property set for height. That can cause it to overflow and create a transparent margin between the menu and the navbar.
As seen on the devtools the navbar has a size of 52px
Whilst the menu is positioned at top: 52.625px.
Simply set the .inner
element to have a height of height: 100%
to eliminate the chance of overflow. According to my knowledge this fix works as intended and does not present any additional issues
If I'm not mistaken the "Short Description" field is being used, not only as the snippet description when on /blog but also as the meta description of the post itself. These two need to be separate fields.
Please make a meta description field so we can write whatever we want for that.
nozzle.io/sitemap.xml goes to a 404 page right now. It used to work but broke last fall for some reason.
Please fix it.
You can use the attached xml file from the following task if you need: https://app.asana.com/0/1111870931558592/1135540899276584
Right now, posts are being ordered and displayed using post.sys.createdAt but we want to be able to control that, so it needs to use post.fields.date.
The current link to the PAA sample is broken. Please update any links to point at https://datastudio.google.com/u/0/reporting/a278a737-f0cd-4697-99f9-cd5d7ef0689b/page/T6hmB
When a post shows up alone on the bottom row, on any page that lists several blog posts, it expands to take up the whole row and therefore looks huge compared to the post listings above it.
Go to any of our blog category pages to see what I mean.
Here is a good (or should I say, bad) example: https://nozzle.io/blog/categories/seo
I tried to add an ordered list and used the proper markdown language but when the post was published the numbers don't appear at all.
Un-ordered lists, with bullet points, work just fine.
At the bottom of every post, we have 3 links to related posts on our blog to read under the "More Like This" section.
At the bottom of https://nozzle.io/blog/dozens-of-marketers-share-how-they-choose-which-seo-tool-to-use-and-buy/, I saw that 2 of the 3 links were pointing to the same blog post. See image:
https://share.getcloudapp.com/bLumwr1r
It should always be 3 unique posts and never duplicate one of them.
Use the URL nozzle.io/testimonials.
For now, you can probably use the same design as the /metrics page but with no image at the top.
Not sure exactly how WordPress does it, but some XMLRPC business. Hopefully this gets our pages indexed faster

Jake,
On wordpress, you can install aplugin that will send backup files to your email or dropbox or somwhere on a schedule.
Can you search to see if their is a content backup solution for Contentful please?
Let me know what you find before spending the time to actually implement. We'll want something eventually but depending on how much time it will take to implement, we'll decide on when to tackle the implementation.
Across the marketing site the smallest font used seems a little too small for easy readability. Looks like 10pt maybe? I think we should make it slightly bigger.
Is there any way to make it so when I highlight some text and click on the insert link icon it can create it as html instead of whatever it's doing right now?
I would also like it to have a checkbox to mark that makes the link open up in a new tab?
It would be nice to not have to hard code the link html every time.

As you can see in the image link above we have a 307 and a 308 redirect going on. Typically you want it to be a 301 redirect like in the following image: https://share.getcloudapp.com/lluD0x1j.
Please look into this and figure out how to fix it.
John Mueller at Google said that if you use a 308 redirect like a 301 redirect then they'll treat it as such. https://www.seroundtable.com/google-308-redirects-25722.html
I'm not sure how we are using it and it would be best practice to use a 301 redirect if you can figure it out so that if someone links to us with http://nozzle.io or www.nozzle.io they'll be counted properly.
When I upload an image for the first time, whatever I use as the Title of that image becomes the alt text of the image when inserted into a post.
Then if I go back to that image in the media library and change the title a little to optimize the alt text better, when I hit save and even if I republish the blog post, the alt text stays the same as what it was before even though the title of the image is now altered.
Can you add an alt text field in the media library for each image so we can easily update and test different alt texts?
We don't have meta descriptions on any of our pages.
<meta name="description" content="<?php echo wp_strip_all_tags( get_the_excerpt(), true ); ?>" />
Add a meta description field to the blog post template area so we can manually add our own descriptions if we want.
I'll be adding meta descriptions to the main pages (non blog pages) so don't worry about those.
Please fix site so their is no horizontal scroll bar.
We need a sign in link on the marketing site. I've had multiple people ask for it recently because otherwise they'd have to remember their workspace ID to find the right url. I am not opinionated about where you locate it.
