LCD interfacing with MRFC522

Race condition wherein any LCD function called after defining MRFC522 causes the program to crash/enter infinite loop.

Possible causes-

  1. MRFC522 and I2C LCD drivers utilize same registers
  2. Timing issue due to baud rates, but highly unlikely due to Pico utilizing different pins for I2C and SPI protocol

Steps to reproduce issue-

  1. Call lcd.clear() or any function after reader=MRFC(.....)
  2. Pico will stop responding

Plan B if issue is not fixable:

  • Utilize LCD to simply state Place RFID reader, then use RGB LED's to indicate either access granted/denied
  • Use SPI to communicate with LCD
