If no one is logged in, redirect to login page, and vice versa.

I assume you're looking for a session or something? It could be because it still has my session (Even though I restarted the server), but you should look into it. It happens even when trying to visit the login page, throws error: "Couldn't find User with id=1"

Set up email system for sending requests (maybe [email protected]? Just a suggestion for a send email address. OR you could make the sender address the person requesting so the person with the item can just hit reply.)

Ensure that when a user adds, edits, or deletes something, data is written to the database.

Make sure that if the user is logged in, they don't need to log in again when they go to request an item

When there is a password error, it just refreshes the page. Make sure it displays an error.

I pushed the Request page (minus the actual email function) on Friday, but it's still really basic. What else should we put there, and which attributes should we assign values to on this page? Right now, I have it assigning values to the item_id, user_id, and date_requested attributes. Anything else?

For add, make sure that when the user adds a category it gets written to the categories table and then the ID is associated with it.

Notify the user that they will be sending an email and should wait for an email reply in their sign-up email, then send the email.
