I tried to make sure that the tests of atlasreader would run with latest versions of its dependencies and so far this was not successful.
Given I am not sure I am ready to become the maintainer of yet another tool and given how much code seems to be needed to add this functionality into nilearn directly (see the notebook created by @ymzayek : https://github.com/ymzayek/nilearn-EBRAINS-hands-on/blob/new-notebook/Notebooks/coordinates.ipynb)... I am tempted to maybe add this as a new feature to nilearn...
Happy to hear other people's opinions?
