With the rise of lungrelated issues in recent times, it would be a boon if a system existed that would aid medical professionals to diagnose diseases from chest CT scans. This paper proposes to develop such a system in the form of two separate modules using basic image processing techniques and convolutional neural networks (CNN). The image processing module uses basic image processing to reduce computational complexity and produce excellent results, while the classification module is reliable while also training at an acceptable rate. Our proposed system predicts lung disease with an average accuracy of 98.11% which is on par with other methods that are far more complex and use significantly higher computational resources.
