The project should have 2 sides -- volunteer side and non-profit side
volunteer side should engage volunteer to fill in profile, and have some badges/rewards for doing volunteer work
profile should contain information about volunteer including location and skills
non-profit side should allow them to setup locations and events, including repeating events
also should capture volunteer attendance at specific events and award appropriate badges for that
should provide some reporting screens about volunteer engagement and location comparison
that's the starting point -- minimum viable

3. API in Elixir/Phoenix, a thin webapp on top
4. Add mobile app
5. Add Twitter feed, broadcast live twittes
6. Add twillio integration to send out text to mobile phone
