MEGABOT Discord Bot

Another Discord bot for learning and fun. Using ~~discord.py~~ pycord to practice CI/CD with GitHub actions and EC2. Not serverless, unfortunately. 😞

Originally based off of my first bot: BlessThisMess

🤖 Commands

/age <name>: Guesses the age of a specified name.
/album [genre:...]: Play an album artist guessing game.
/balance: View MEGACOIN balance.
/bank: View the MEGACOIN balance leaderboard.
/bless: Blesses the mess!
/bug: Report a MEGABOT bug.
/chat <prompt>: Chat with MEGABOT. (GPT3.5)
/clear: Temporarily clear MEGATEST commands. (Admin Only)
/code <prompt>: Write code with AI.
/coin: Flip a coin.
/cs <username>: Retrieve a player's Counter-Strike stats.
/dice: Roll a dice.
/double: Play MEGACOIN double or nothing.
/emote <search> [add:True] [id:True]: Search for a 7TV emote. Optionally add it to the Discord guild.
/feature: Submit a MEGABOT feature request.
/ffl: Get the last 24 hours of Fantasy Football League activity.
/image: Generate an image with AI.
/kanye: Retrieve a random Kanye West quote.
/kill: Stop the bot's process. (Admin Only)
/math <expression>: Evaluate provided math expression.
/nasa [details:True]: Retrieve the NASA photo of the day.
/pause: Pause or resume music.
/pay <user> <amount>: Pay another user some MEGACOIN.
/payout <user> <amount> <message>: Payout MEGACOIN. (Admin only)
/ping: Responds with pong.
/photo: Return a random photo from the MEGABOT database.
/play: Plays music.
/poll: Create a poll with up to nine options.
/queue: Show the current music queue.
/random-unicode-emoji: Return a random Unicode emoji. No Discord emojis.
/resume: Resume playing music.
/replay: Replay the current song.
/retirement: Retirement calculator for your planning pleasure. (Developed by @NavyBoy37)
/skip: Skip the current song.
/stock: Searches a stock price.
/stop: Stops music.
/streak [stats:True]: Keep a daily streak going!
/test: Run a series of tests on the bot.
/upload <photo>: Upload a photo to the MEGABOT database.
/version: Return the latest MEGABOT version number.
/weather: Get the weather forecast based on ZIP code.
/wheel: Spin the MEGACOIN wheel.

Versions

Currently runs on Python v3.11.x.

Some commands use my own Python package: random-unicode-emoji-py

March Madness Bracket

Add MM bracket. overall team standings/matchups box scores would be cool

Add TIDAL API

add tidal to megabot. they already have a feature that can read tidal song links and convert them to your prefered platform.

Migrate to Subcommands

Migrate some commands such as /streak to subcommands.

music queue bug

when adding two or more songs simultaneously, they sometimes both show immediately as "playing now" rather than adding to queue. Waiting until the initial song requested is downloaded circumvents this issue.

Remove notification of users joining channels

This was a horrible idea.

Lines 1 to 47 of vc_notification.py appear to have been added in error. Please remove.

Music Controls via Reactions

Make it possible to play/pause/skip/stop with emoji reactions.

Add new /feature command for features, to distinguish between /bug.
Auto label and assign issues.
Add submitter's username to issue description.
