Hey, there's a special case where the auth is failing for me: using subdomains on localhost.
For example I use: http://gitlab.localhost:3000 in this PR.

There are a few places where you compare the location.hostname with "localhost", it fails when hostanme is something like foo.localhost. Maybe you can compare it with location.hostname.split('.').pop().

I made a testing app based on the old auth provider docs with a basic script tag linking to this new script via unpkg.com. Loading the site, the script appears to load properly, but returns an Uncaught Reference Error: exports is not defined.

Seems this is not maintained aynmore, as mentioned in #5.

"Authentication providers" doc page still links to netlify-demo-example as an examaple, which is still using this (netlify-auth-providers) package.

It would be nice if docs were updated to what's curently oficially supported library and example for that.

I see that https://github.com/netlify/gotrue-js is listed as alternative, but can't find how to implement OAauth provider flow there. I'm aware this is (probably) a separate issue, but still, if that's an alternative, I'd expect support for OAuth too.
