Need installation script

I've written a Makefile for Linux/Unix users. I don't use Windows or Macs
so can't vouch for its use there, though if you set GIMP2_DIRECTORY on
either it should probably work.

Makefile is attached.

Dynamics, tools, brush rotation.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
i use ubuntu linux with 2.6 gimp. i downloaded the newest version (2.0) of GPS.

Please provide any additional information below.

okay. i copied all the GPS folders (unzipped) into the gimp 2.6 folder and
opened up my gimp. things i found right: i found all the brushes, the splash
worked, the patterns, palletes and graidiants worked. what did not work were
the tools. if you click the "tool-presets" folder and the "dynamics" folder,
none of the things appear, or if they do i cant find them. i looked at all the
dock option, the tool options and i cant find them. how do i find the tools? my
tool dock has all the normal tools, nothing added or changed.

I really really need help :) thanks

also. the brushes work to some extent. for example. the chain brush. i brush
works, i click it, and see a chain link appear, but when i drag it the brush
wont rotate with my direction. none of the brush settings work, just the
picture being pasted.

please reply. i need help. thanks!

Installing over gps 1.5

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I had gps version 1.5 installed on gimp 2.6.
2. I just changed distro and installed gimp 2.8, gimp install automatically
copied all my settings from 2.6, including gps 1.5
3. I now want to replace gps 1.5 with gps 2 do I need to remove 1.5 first? I
see there is a different tree structure in version 2

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Changing from 1.5 to 2 on Arch Linux

Please provide any additional information below.

Should you not include how to remove instructions with the instalation?

Brushes don't work.

I've just installed GPS 1.5 in my GIMP 2.6.10 as I did some time ago. It worked
flawlessly before, but now, even if I change the brush, the brush settings
don't change, for example, if I change to the brush GPS Rocket Fire, nothing
changes, the brush size, shape, color, nothing changes :/

I'm using it in Ubuntu 10.10, it also doesn't work in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

What should I do?

Add metainfo.xml to support Gnome Software Centere

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Gimp Paint Studio is not visible on Gnome Software Center
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Gimp Paint Studio will be displayed on appstream supported app store like Gnome
Software Center

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.0

Please provide any additional information below.
The metainfo is attached and ready to use. You can edit it if you need to
update the information and it takes very little space (less than 1kb in size).
The benefit is huge because it will allow an ease of installation not only for
Gnome Software but also other app store like Ubuntu Software Center.
You can read more information on

Fatal parse errors in some palletes and a pattern

Hello,

After installing GPS 1.3 and running gimp from the command line, I see
these errors:

mikey@rohan:~$ gimp
GIMP-Error: Failed to load data:

Fatal parse error in pattern file
'/home/mikey/.gimp-2.6/patterns/screen.pat': Unknown pattern format version
65536.

GIMP-Error: Failed to load data:

Fatal parse error in palette file
'/home/mikey/.gimp-2.6/palettes/color_wheel-2-cmyk.aco': Missing magic header.

GIMP-Error: Failed to load data:

Fatal parse error in palette file
'/home/mikey/.gimp-2.6/palettes/color_wheel-2-rgb.aco': Missing magic header.

Most of GPS seems to load, but I'm guessing without these files that have
errors.

I am running Gimp 2.6.7 on Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala

I have tried replacing these files with older versions from the 1.2 release
with the same errors.

Is this a known problem?

Otherwise I really think GPS is a great idea and really look forward to
using it.

Change the sourceball name

Hi,

Being as a packager we hope you can remove the space in your file name.

GPS 2_0 final.zip

should be:

GPS-2.0-final.zip

Thanks.

Download files aren't openable with the default tools of any major platform

Currently, I see two download formats - 7z and rar. Neither of these can be
opened with the default tools of Windows, OS X, or most Linux
distributions, requiring 7-Zip or WinRAR, respectively. Why not also put up
a zip download? While marginally larger, the added ease of installation
should make it worth it - and those who can unzip 7z or rar files can just
get those.
