portron's Issues

/union/sbin/modprobe: not found on boot

Good afternoon,
I followed the whole procedure on Mac OS X Mojave but when I load the .iso from a Virtual Machine I get the following error on VM’s boot.
/union/sbin/modprobe: not found

install.sh fails

I'm on Arch Linux, kernel 5.8. The below is console output after git-cloning and running install.sh:

Portron Builder installation

/usr/bin/ld: /tmp/cccl3tmZ.o: in function `initialise_gpt':

/usr/bin/ld: isohybrid.c:(.text+0x1793): undefined reference to `uuid_generate'
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
- success installing mksquashfs
Error, installation not complete.

How can I fix this? Thanks in advance; this project seems useful

electronApp not starting

After building iso and booting it in Virtualbox the app is not starting just the splashscreen shows up.
on DEBUG INITRD startup mode I get the following output:

Could you tell where the problem is?

Improve Installation Wizard

Installation Wizard writes settings to the installation or installed media. The existing scripts are the ones from Porteus Kiosk, and have a decent UI, however they use their proprietary parameter system that is not used on Portron in favour of a Multi-Layer parameter engine that is expandable and easy to use.

So while installation scripts just work, they need refactor and transition to the new parameter system for, among other things, display current values on re-installations.

Splash Screen Flicker on transition to X Windows

On InitRd the splash screen is drawn to the framebuffer.

When X-Windows starts, the screen goes black, then a couple of seconds later, we use hsetroot to set the same splash screen as wallpaper.

However I think motherfuckers make the transition time shorter using some kind of graphics init in initrd so the screen doesn't go black. I have no idea, anybody?

Vue app doesn't boot in VM

Hey guys, hope you're doing well.

I found this project to try and make a Vue Electron App to work inside a VirtualBox.
And I can't get it to boot. Even after checking the EFI boot the grub launches, then a black screen with the cursor at the top, empty... Meaning it didn't find something to boot I presume.

I compiled my Electron App with vue-cli-service electron:build --linux tar.gz which does work like a charm and then electron-tgz2iso tv-client-0.1.0.tar.gz splashscreen.jpg tv-client-0.1.0.iso without changing the names and providing a small wallpaper (133kb) directly from the current folder.

I get an ISO file which doesn't boot in Virtual Machine, would you happen to know if I do make a mistake ?
